PostureUp reads head tilt from the motion sensors in your AirPods. Look down too long and you hear a soft chime. Then check your posture score.
For AirPods Pro, AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods 4, AirPods Max and Beats Fit Pro.
The figure follows your head. Past your alert angle it turns amber.
How it works
Nothing to strap on and no camera on you. Just the AirPods you already wear.
-
Put your AirPods in.
A one-minute quiz sets your alert angle, timing and daily goal.
-
Get on with your day.
PostureUp tracks in the background, with your phone locked or in another app. The chime plays alongside your music.
-
Hear a soft chime.
Only once your head has stayed down for the time you set. A quick glance at your phone doesn't count.
Alerts wait while you're walking or driving, or lying on your side or back. If you stay down anyway, they ease off.
You decide what counts.
Set how far your head can tilt before it counts, from 8 to 30 degrees, or start from Gentle, Balanced or Strict. Then choose how long to wait before the first chime, how often it repeats, and an optional limit per hour.
Stays on your iPhone.
No camera and no account. Your head motion, tracked time and scores stay on your phone. Subscriptions run through Apple and RevenueCat.
Questions
Which headphones work?
AirPods Pro, AirPods (3rd generation), AirPods 4, AirPods Max and Beats Fit Pro. AirPods (1st and 2nd generation) don't have head tracking, so they won't work. You'll need an iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
Does it use my camera?
No. PostureUp never uses your camera or microphone. It reads head tilt from the motion sensors in your AirPods, and that stays on your iPhone.
How much will it cost?
PostureUp needs a subscription: $19.99 a year with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers, or $4.99 a month. Prices are in US dollars and may vary by country.
When does it launch?
Soon. It isn't on the App Store yet. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the day it is.
Does it run all day?
It tracks in the background while your AirPods are in. With them out, it stays ready in the background, which uses battery. If iOS stops it, or after a restart or an update, open the app again. You can pause it or turn tracking off in Settings.
Is it a medical device?
No. PostureUp is a habit tool. It reads head tilt as a general guide to your posture, and it isn't medical advice.
