Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
PostureUp helps you keep your head up using the motion sensors in your AirPods. This policy explains what happens to your data. The short version: your posture data stays on your iPhone, and we don't collect personal data, apart from the subscription records below and, if you join the website waitlist, your email address. RevenueCat keeps the subscription records for us under an anonymous ID.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything about your posture is stored only on your device, and the app never uploads it:
- Head motion: PostureUp reads motion data from your AirPods to work out your head position in real time. It isn't sent anywhere.
- Motion activity: PostureUp reads whether your iPhone is walking, running, cycling or in a vehicle, to hold alerts while you're moving. It isn't stored or sent anywhere.
- Tracked time and stats: when you tracked, posture scores, alert counts and streaks.
- Your setup: your calibration, alert and sound settings, appearance choice, daily goal and onboarding answers.
Deleting the app deletes this data from your iPhone. We have no copy of it and can't recover it. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include it, as it does for your other apps.
What we don't collect
There are no accounts. We don't collect your name, location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. PostureUp never uses your camera or microphone. RevenueCat is the only third-party SDK in the app. There are no advertising SDKs and no usage analytics, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
Notifications
Posture alerts and tracking notices are local notifications created on your iPhone. No notification server is involved.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. RevenueCat, our subscription service, receives your App Store purchase history, an anonymous app user ID, basic device information such as device type and iOS version, and when you last used the app, so we can confirm your subscription, restore purchases, and see overall subscription numbers in RevenueCat's dashboard. We never see your payment details.
RevenueCat keeps these records for us as our data processor, under the anonymous ID, and gives them the same or equal protection as this policy. It keeps them for as long as they're needed to run your subscription and meet legal obligations, under its own retention policy.
Crash reports
If you turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple shares anonymized crash reports with us.
Website waitlist
If you join the waitlist at postureup.app, we keep your email address, when you joined, and which sign-up form and link you came from. We use your email only to tell you when PostureUp launches. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone except Cloudflare, which hosts the website and stores the list for us. To stop spam, the website briefly keeps a record tied to your IP address and deletes it within a few minutes. The website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. To have your email deleted, write to the address below and we'll remove it.
Your rights
You can turn off Motion & Fitness or notifications for PostureUp any time in iOS Settings.
Your posture data is only on your iPhone, so we have no copy of it to access, export or delete. To delete it, delete the app. To ask for the subscription records RevenueCat keeps for us to be deleted, write to the address below, and we'll tell you what we need to find them. We don't sell personal information. If you're in the EU or UK, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Apple may keep purchase records as tax law requires.
Children
PostureUp is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change how data is handled, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
